Born in Azores, Rita Martins made her first onscreen appearance as the leading star of the film "Lavado em Lágrimas", directed by Rosa Coutinho Cabral. After that came Alberto Seixas Santos’s shortfilm "The Girl with the Dead Hand", which was selected for the Venice Film Festival. In the recent past, Rita Martins has collaborated with Manuel Mozos and Paulo Rebelo.
