PHOTO – Carlos Saboga’s first feature film premieres in Portugal

Carlos Saboga's first film as a director, PHOTO, premiered today in Portuguese theatres. After its release in France on April, PHOTO is already in exhibition in Lisbon, Oporto, Vila Nova de Gaia, Setúbal, Coimbra ans Braga.
 
PHOTO tells the story of Elisa. Her mother just died. Her father isn’t the one she thought. Elisa ends up jammed between an uncertain past and an obstructed future. Her quest for her real father leads her to a phantasmal present. Bumping into speaking dead bodies, failing memories, retired torturers, will she ever know the truth?

Premiere of PHOTO Saturday April 6th at the 23rd Festival du Film Région d'Eeurope de Beauvais

Photo will premiere at the 23rd Festival du Film Région d'Europe de Beauvais on Saturday 6th April 7.30pm, in presence of the director, Carlos Saboga and of the actress Marisa Paredes.
The festival also pays a tribute to the producer Paulo Branco, who will also introduce the film, alongside Fanny Ardant and Mathieu Amalric.
Maria de Medeiros will be the sponsor of this edition.

PHOTO will be screened on Friday, 5th April 2013 at 17.30 pm in the Grand Amphithéâtre of the Centre Malesherbes, Université Paris-Sorbonne.

The director, Carlos Saboga, will attend this premiere and the screening will be followed by a Q&A.

CARLOS SABOGA won Best Screenplay Award

CARLOS SABOGA won the Best Screenplay Award given by the Portuguese Authors Society. This distinction celebrates Saboga’s work on LINES OF WELLINGTON, Valeria Sarmiento’s film that premiered at Venice Film Festival 2012.

PHOTO by Carlos Saboga in competition at the last Rome Film Festival

Carlos Saboga's first film as a director, "Photo", was presented in competition at the last Rome Film Festival, in the "CinemaXXI" section. It was screened on November 13th. The director and the actors Anna Mouglalis and Simão Cayatte were present.

The French release is scheduled on April 10th, 2013.
